If you have landed on this page you most likely googled “Chiropractor near me”  or “Boulder Chiropractor.” But what are you really looking for?  Are you looking for temporary pain relief or a long-lasting solution?

If you are looking for a temporary fix, this might not be the best office for you.  If you are looking for optimal health, then you are at the right place!!

Long-lasting pain relief with Atlas Chiropractic of Boulder

The approach that we often take to health is always wanting to do something to fix a problem. Have a headache? Take a pill. You’re overweight? Get gastric bypass. Stressed out? Smoke a cigarette. All these approaches merely cover up the symptom and never try to address the true underlying problem. The trend of today’s modern medicine is a pill for every ill. These pills cause side effects and people find themselves taking pills for the side effects of those pills and so on. So the question is: Is the answer more intervention from the outside in (taking medications), or do we want to work with our body’s amazing ability to heal itself?

Let’s look at the alternative approach: Finding out what is causing these symptoms. Your body is sick because of one or two reasons. Reason 1: You’re deficient in something, and/or Reason 2: You need to get rid of something. I can promise you are never deficient in Advil or Tums or hydrocodone. The body does not need it, although it may have difficulty getting rid of it. The recipe for complete health is very simple. The human body needs five things: proper nutrition, adequate exercise, enough sleep, a positive mental attitude, and a proper functioning nervous system.

The first four things are necessary to work with your body so it can function the way it should. The last, a proper functioning nervous system, is needed to keep all the other systems (cardiovascular, pulmonary, endocrine) functioning properly. When your brain works correctly, all systems function the way they should because your brain is the master control system. If you have an improperly functioning nervous system, you will have incorrect messages from the body to the brain.

Kathy is a patient in my office who was suffering from severe tremors, headaches, neck pain, and vertigo. She saw her primary doctor, was sent to another doctor, and another, and was eventually referred to a neurologist. The neurologist gave her two choices: She could take these pills with the side effect of suicidal thoughts, or she could get Botox injections in her neck with the potential side effect of death. She elected to take the pills and struggled with the side effects of suicidal thoughts while the tremors still continued. Eventually, she found upper cervical chiropractic here in Boulder. We were able to remove the interference that was causing her central nervous system dysfunction, and she is now off all medication, has very little tremors, and no pain. Additionally, she does not have to deal with the negative side effects from the drugs. Her body has been given the ability to heal itself, and the only end result is health.

Which approach sounds better to you? A lifetime or process of symptom management where you slowly continue to lose your health, or working with your body and regaining health, energy, and longevity? The answer seems pretty simple. Next time you or a loved one finds themselves in a health decision, ask yourself, “Am I managing symptoms or regaining health?”
